A WORKMAN who suffered serious head injuries after falling 20 feet from a ladder was in a poorly but stable condition in the intensive care unit at Burnley General Hospital today.
Paul Fraser, 50, of Cross Lane, Salterforth, was working at Weston Electrical Units, Foulridge, yesterday afternoon when he fell onto a hard surface.
Mr Fraser, who owns the Earby cleaning firm Guardian Products, was working as an outside contractor cleaning a roof inside a factory off Station Road when the accident happened. He suffered a fractured skull and other head injuries.
His wife and business partner Sheila Fraser said: "We normally supply cleaning materials rather than doing the job ourselves. Weston asked us to supply materials and do the cleaning. We went in with some lads in April and May but the firm said we'd missed a bit so Paul went back in himself to finish it off."
The Factory Inspectorate has been told about the accident and Weston will submit a report. The firm's managing director, Richard Sutton, said: "Our feelings go out to his wife, friends and colleagues and we hope he makes a full recovery."
