I AM sure Duncan McVee (Letters, June 2) must be aware that the Labour Party would not even exist today if the leaders of the trade unions (whom he so despises), had not created it in the first place to serve their interests in Parliament, early in this century.
The trade unions are still the main financial supporters of the Labour Party - despite Tony Blair's new found big business friends.
