A YOUTH was pushed into Lancaster canal by thugs and when he tried to pull himself out he was punched back into the water in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The 17-year-old eventually made his way to the RLI where he was diagnosed with as having a broken cheekbone from the punch. There was no reason for the attack.
The victim had been walking along the canal between The White Cross and Water Witch pubs at about 1.30am when he was attacked by the two hooligans.
The attacker who punched him in the river was 6ft 2ins, broad build with short cropped blond hair. The other was 5ft 10ins, broad build, wearing white and orange sports top, jeans and trainers.
