A MOTHER and her baby were left without adequate heating or hot water for four days in their council house in Lancaster this week. Paula Hough, 20, of Sycamore Grove on the Marsh estate, became alarmed when her daughter, Georgia fell ill. Then she noticed her gas fire wasn't working properly and the boiler had to be cut off.
"It was difficult to keep my baby warm with only two electric heaters the council left us," said Paula. "My neighbours, family and friends all rallied round. But the workman said it could have been very dangerous. I'm glad it's sorted."
A council spokesman apologised for the delay and explained it couldn't be helped because they had to wait for a delivery.
