Rolls-Royce announced a new £70 million order for engines at the Paris Air Show.
The company's Tay engines were ordered by Dutch firm Fokker for a new twin-jet airliner. Two airlines in Indonesia had ordered 20 planes with an option on a further five.
A Rolls-Royce spokesman said: "These orders continue the Tay engine success story and will take the number of engines delivered past the 1,000 mark."
