WE recently held our annual garden fair at St Thomas's Church, Barrowford.
In spite of mixed weather we had a tremendous number of visitors and were able to raise well over £2,500.
The same Samaritan volunteers who took 23,000 calls last year are responsible for raising the funds needed to maintain our 24-hour service and the money raised at the garden fair will pay for over 2,500 emergency calls from people in our community who are finding it difficult to cope and may even be feeling suicidal.
I would like to thank all those who helped and supported us at this important annual event.
LARRY COULSTON, Director, The Samaritans of Pendle, Burnley and Rossendale.
