IN response to A Culverhouse's letter "Labour owes all to Unions", I would have thought that debts owed as far as history is concerned was a two-way street.
After all, Labour was set up in conjunction with the unions to be a pressure group in Westminster and represent the rights of the working class, which of course worked out very well and in today's language is called "Fairness at Work".
The charge levelled personally at me was that "I despise unions".
No! Mr Culverhouse, I don't despise unions. What I do loathe and despise is militant trade unionists where political ambitions are put above alleviating poor social conditions.
