FURIOUS residents demanded an investigation into plans to put homeless families into a building which was closed after an asbestos scare.
The 27-bedroom Marsh House Hostel, Darwen, was closed in 1991 after a report on its asbestos-lined walls. The row broke when the hostel was sold by Lancashire County Council to a Nelson firm planning to use it as a hostel for the homeless.
