A BRAVE customer gave chase after an armed robber fled with £200 from a Bury off-licence.
But the thief managed to get away and was last seen close to Bury Golf Club off Manchester Road on Wednesday (June 10), minutes after the raid on the nearby Threshers off-licence.
Shortly before 10pm the raider entered the Sunnybank off-licence and produced a handgun, threatening the 20-year-old female shop assistant and demanding that she hand over cash from the till.
He then fled with the money, with a customer in pursuit.
No one was hurt although the shop assistant and a colleague were shaken by the incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses. The raider is described as a white male who was wearing a cream-coloured baseball cap and a blue shell-suit.
Anyone who can help should contact Bury Crime Management Unit on 0161 856 8157 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
