A WEDDING with a difference took place at St Paul's School, Hoddlesden, when two pupils took the plunge and got married at the tender age of seven!
The mock ceremony, complete with best man, bridesmaids and guests, was part of a series of assemblies on the subject of special days. The Rev Christopher Peter was drafted in to hear the couple say their vows and to explain about Christian marriage and the meaning behind the many traditions.
Class three teacher Jeanette Maine came up with the idea and invited parents to witness the event.
She said: "We copied the whole ceremony down to the last details, including rings, flowers and a cake. The children really enjoyed themselves."
