POLICE suspect a domestic dispute could account for a man's clothes being found strewn across a field.
Now they are appealing for the owner to come and collect his possessions - including a snooker cue which has been sawn and broken into pieces.
Police collected five bags full of assorted male clothing from the field at the back of St Anne's Primary School, Sandy Lane, Accrington.
The dumped property includes Nike, Reebok and Wrangler footwear, with trousers, sports shirts, cycling gloves, socks and underwear. It was reported to police by a member of the public.
Sergeant Brian Hopwood said: "We have no idea where they have come from and are keen to have the owner come and collect them."
Police have checked their records and have no reports of similar property being lost or stolen.
Sgt Hopwood added: "We are wondering whether it is the result of a domestic dispute."
Police are asking the owner to call in or contact Accrington police station on 01254 382141.
