Workington Town 25 Lancashire Lynx 26 LYNX marched to the top of the table with a brilliant, nail-biting victory against their Cumbrian rivals.
Playing on a bog of a pitch the Lancashire side produced a solid display of Rugby League to come from behind and turn a likely loss in to an amazing victory.
They got off to a great start when the impressive hooker John Donno continued his excellent form to score an easy try.
After just two minutes Lynx led 4-0 and both their fans and players must have been thinking about repeating their 40-6 drubbing earlier in the season.
However Town's starman Richard Henare used his amazing pace to score two tries in the next ten minutes.
Only five minutes later Lynx were awarded a penalty. Stand off Phil Jones stepped up but unfortunately pulled it wide - but the ball struck the post and fell favourably for winger Neil Parsley who scored a lucky try.
Jones converted the try and after twenty minutes the sides were locked at 10-10.
Good defence followed and after both sides kicked a penalty the half time hooter went with the score at 12-12.
Last week's star player PJ Soloman left his concentration in the dressing room when he ran out for the second half as he immediately knocked the ball on in his own half.
Scrum half Graeme Close took advantage of his mistake and quickly ran through the Lynx defence to score a great try.
However, determined not to let their opponents get away from them, Lynx soon disturbed the scorers again as PJ Soloman found his concentration to score. Jones missed the conversion to keep the score in favour of the home team, 18-16.
Centre Mateaki Mafi then put the home team further ahead as he easily out-sprinted Lynx full back Fairhurst to score.
Craig Fisher scored his fourth kick and Steve Maguire soon added a drop goal to send the home team in to what looked like an unassailable 25-16 lead.
Determined to keep their 100 per cent away record intact Lancashire, spurred on by Carl Briscoe, attacked the Workington line and scored a much-needed try when leading scorer Neil Parsley crossed for his second.
With time running out the Lynx put their heads together and worked as a team to close in on their opponents line.
The impressive Briscoe punched yet another hole in the Workington defence and with the line at his mercy crossed over to send the home fans quiet. Phil 'Indiana' Jones then kept his cool to convert the try and snatch victory.
