LOCAL history devotees are off up North.
On June 27 Leigh Local History Society is organising a trip to Carlisle and Wetherigg's Pottery near Penrith.
The trip includes a guided tour of the cathedral with lunch in the old monastery. There will be time to explore Carlisle and its castle, once the home of Mary Queen of Scots, St Cuthbert's Church with the unique movable pulpit and witness hand weaving on original looms.
Seats are still available. Call Mrs E Ackers on 01942 865488 to reserve a place.
