PENSIONERS can let the train take the strain for cheaper summer outings as part of Help the Aged's Longest Day celebrations.
Help the Aged has joined forces with ATOC, the Association of Train Operating Companies to offer free senior citizen railcards.
The Charity's shop across England, Scotland and Wales will each have more than 100 railcards to give away to customers aged over 60.
The railcards will be available on a first come, first served basis, from June 18-28. They are valid for travel until July 31. Customers must collect them personally and provide documentary prove of age.
The offer is part of the Charity's Longest Day promotion which celebrates the longest lives. Line dancing events will be taking place on piers and bridges across the country on the longest day - june 21.
