GOLBORNE and District Townswomen's Guild paid tribute to founder member Mrs Emily Dickenson who died recently.
Mr and Mrs K Inman were thanked for hosting a quiz night at their home, proceeds of which will go to the Cot Death Syndrome Society.
The activities group have embroidered a banner reflecting scenes and emblems of Guilds in the South Lncashire Federation which will be carried by Mrs D Jones at the national convention in Birmingham in June.
NSPCC worker, Ms S Sunny, gave an insight into the organisation and how it had changed over the years. Children are no longer just taken from their families and placed into homes, families are helped to overcome their difficulties in their own homes.
The next meeting is in the Barwell Room at Golborne High School on June 24 at 7pm when Mr G Pilkington will speak on feeding wild birds.
