POLICE are trying to trace a schoolboy who was robbed by a man - so they can give him his money back!
The incident took place at about 9.45am on Monday, June 15, when the youngster, thought to be aged about 12, was approached by the thief at the junction of Two Butt Lane and Holt Lane, Rainhill.
The man then grabbed the lad around the neck and took £2 from him. Fortunately, a passing motorist and a number of pedestrians saw what was happening and managed to detain the robber until the police arrived.
In the meantime, though, the schoolboy - who was wearing a green jumper, bubble jacket and grey trousers - seemed to be frightened by the whole affair and ran off.
If you are the schoolboy victim, or you know who he is, you are asked to contact the Crime Management Unit at St Helens police station on 0151 777 6050.
