LANCASTER police are checking the missing person files after a badly decomposed torso was washed up near Preesall.
It was discovered at the weekend by a man walking his dog.
The torso, the bottom half of a man believed to be aged between 40 and 50, was thought to have been in the water for many months.
There are no suspicious circumstances.
