"QUEEN'S Park CE/URC Primary School is a good school where strong leadership promotes a shared sense of purpose, a clear moral code and high expectations for achievement," said OFSTED inspectors in the report following their inspection.
The inspectors further reported that "the quality of teaching is a strength." They said that, along with a high level of governor involvement and active parental partnership, this high quality of teaching makes "a significant contribution to the standards achieved."
Throughout the school, in most subjects, achievements were found to be in line with national standards and inspectors praised both teachers and pupils.
Inspectors also reported that pupils' behaviour was good and the school was described as promoting a caring, Christian ethos in which individuals and achievements are valued.
The quality of support for pupils' social and personal development and behaviour was considered to be very effective with a wide range of extra-curricular activities contributing to it. Support for those pupils with special educational needs was found to be good and the work of special needs staff was praised. Inspectors also recognised that non-teaching staff contributed towards this by maintaining a clean and bright environment of which the children were proud.
