A 44-year-old man suffered fatal injuries following a horrific car crash on a country road near Lancaster on Tuesday night.
The Aughton man, who has not been named, was driving a Peugeot car along a country road near Over Kellet when it collided with a stone bridge.
Paramedics rushed to the scene but the driver had died of serious multiple injuries.
It took firefighters more than an hour to cut the man free and his relatives have been informed.
