Lancaster 98-8 Fleetwood 143-9
LANCASTER had to hold on for a losing draw against Fleetwood at Lune Road.
Lancaster captain, David Jolleys won the toss, and put Fleetwood in to bat, and they scored 143 for 9 off their allotted 50 overs.
Opening batsman, John Wright top scored with 39 and John Whalley chipped in with 37.
David Jolleys bowled half the overs to take five for 52, four of his victims being bowled.
In reply, Lancaster found runs hard to accumulate. After 20 overs they were a mere 24 for 1, with opener David Heywood being dismissed for six by Tony Poxon. The home side were always behind the clock, despite professional, Andrew Lawson top scoring with 31, and David Jolleys being undefeated with 20, Ian Parkinson with 12. The only ones to get into double figures.
Fleetwood's bowlers stuck to their task admirably. David Fish playing his first senior game of the season bowled 22 consecutive overs for only 30 runs, Shawn Nicolson, Fleetwood's professional took 5 for 24 from 10 overs.
