REGARDING Philip Congdon's remarks about Hyndburn's satellite towns receiving less than Accrington (Letters, June 15), I thank him for speaking up about Great Harwood.
It is nice to know a few people in the town can see it dying around us. I was born in Great Harwood and it does appear that more is spent on Accrington.
In Great Harwood, shops, banks, schools and even our town hall are closing. It is sad indeed to watch our town die.
Can we not put the 'Great' back in Great Harwood? Please.
BRIAN SHORROCK, Duke Street, Great Harwood.
