YOU may have been misinformed on one or two points mentioned in your article (LET, June 23) on Jan Stansfield being installed as the new president of Hyndburn Rotaract Club.
Rotaract do have links with Rotary Clubs, but is not considered to be a 'junior' section, as your article said.
Local Rotary Clubs sponsor Rotaract Clubs, which are independently run and have activities independent from those of Rotary.
Certain joint events may take place between each Rotary and Rotaract Club. This, however, will depend on local circumstances and the level of involvement that each Rotary Club has with a particular Rotaract Club.
Rotaract is a mixed club, open to anyone aged between 18 and 30 (and not up to the age of 40, as mentioned in your article) who takes part in social, sponsored and community events.
