THE doors of a new £7m development at Queen's Park Hospital, Blackburn, will be thrown open to the public on July 4 and July 5.

It includes two wards for general medicine, two for elderly and rehabilitation patients and a rehabilitation department including a hydrotherapy pool.

Phase four will bring together all the general medicine and elderly rehabilitation wards on the Queen's Park site.

Visitors will be given a guided tour by trust staff.

Chief executive John Thomas said: "This is a unique opportunity for residents of Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley to view this modern new development before it accepts its first patients and becomes fully operational."

Visitors should arrive at the main reception between 1pm and 4pm.
