VIKTOR Achter Ltd at Burnley, the UK's leading manufacturer of automotive seat and door fabrics, has achieved the prestigious QS 9000 standard.
Ten years ago when it was established in Burnley, Viktor Achter Ltd employed 30 people making woven fabrics for the Ford Motor Company. The site is now 11 times bigger at 250,000 square feet and employs more than 440 people.
Operations have expanded to supply over 60 first tier and second tier customers across the globe and including exports to Japan.
The strategy behind the growth has been constant investment in product research, state-of-the-art technology and associated development.
To be accredited with QS 9000 Vicktor Achter needed to establish processes of continuous improvement with an emphasis on defect prevention and reduction of process and product variation.
The company is committed to future achievements such as the ISO 14001 environmental standard and the British Safety Council 5-Star Safety Award.
