A GIANT lollipop will be in Burnley next week during a Round the UK in 80 Days charity tour.
The 11 feet high lolly is stopping at each What Everyone Wants store raising money for Radio Lollipop, the charity that broadcasts to children's wards throughout the country.
Each store has been sponsored to transport the lolly to the next shop in the most imaginative way in a bid to raise £50,000 nationwide.
The lolly will be at the shop in St James' Street, Burnley on Burnley before leaving for Oldham the next day on a decorated wagon escorted by twelve fancy-dressed attendants.
On Thursday, staff are staging a 12-hour bowls marathon and on Saturday, June 27, the store will hold a fund raising fun day with games, competitions, face-painting, tombola and fortune teller.
There will also be a raffle with prizes including a meal for two at Valentino's, a Burnley FC football strip, chocolates and gift vouchers.
Staff will then set out on a sponsored pub crawl. "Our target is to raise £1,000,'' said Collette White, WEW's manager.
