for defender Harrison IPSWICH Town boss George Burley has denied any interest in Burnley defender Gerry Harrison. Harrison had been linked in some quarters with a move to the First Division club. But Burley dismissed such speculation with Ipswich already well served in the central defensive department.
Harrison is also said to have been a target for Luton Town but they yesterday signed Gavin McGowan after he was given a free transfer by Arsenal. The 22-year-old defender had previously spent two spells on loan there. Harrison was one of Burnley's top performers last season but has so far not accepted a new two-year contract at Turf Moor. However his future could become clearer next week with transfer activity expected to pick up following the cut off point at the end of June when out-of-contract players reach the end of their current agreement with their clubs.
