THREE young workers have tuned up their career prospects.
Kieron Buck, 19, Ian Carter, 22, and Daniel Kinnerley, 20, have become the first in East Lancashire to complete Modern Apprenticeships in motor vehicle maintenance and repair through Blackburn-based training 2000.
The three have all obtained Level 3 NVQs and are now planning to take further qualifications including HNCs.
Former Darwen Vale High School pupils Kieron and Ian work for Whalley Motor Services and Daniel, an ex-St Wilfrid's High School pupil, works at Nightingale and Lucas in Blackburn.
"Well over 2,000 young people are currently benefiting from the opportunity to achieve high level qualifications through the modern apprenticeship programme," said Andy Fawcett, ELTEC's training and education development director.
