WHEN I was halfway across the zebra crossing on Montague Street, Blackburn, a motorist came down the hill from Preston New Road like a bat out of hell.
The speed he was doing meant he had no chance of stopping, so he increased speed and flew past me at such a rate I thought he was trying for take-off speed before reaching King Street at the bottom of the hill.
Please, motorists, the crossing is there so pedestrians can get from one side to the other without getting knocked flying.
Pedestrians are not Olympic sprinters. Speeding down Montague Street is a no-no.
Pedestrians are not skittles and no matter how fast you drive you will not reach take-off speed.
R CUTTING, Summerville Walk, Blackburn.
