ANNIE Pickles went to a christening yesterday to welcome her great, great granddaughter into the world.
And before the end of the year Annie, 87, of Brownhill Road, Blackburn, plans to go to New South Wales, Australia, to visit yet another fifth generation addition to her family.
Annie attended yesterday's christening at Holy Souls Church with her daughter Maureen Woolley, her granddaughter Heather Wilcock and her great granddaughter Lisa who is the mother of baby Karla - the newest addition to the clan.
A party was held after the christening at the Brownhill Arms pub on Whalley New Road.
Annie said: "It means a lot to me that there are five female generations of the family both here in Blackburn and also out in Australia.
"It's very special to see my great great granddaughter and I am sure it will feel the same when I go to Australia to see my daughter Margaret and all of her family."
