REGARDING the by-election caused in Cliviger with Worsthorne by Roger Craig's decision to live in Scotland, I would just query Labour's claim that they weren't informed of his decision to quit until after the local elections were held.

Everyone in the town knew that Roger Craig had moved to Scotland and Labour had every opportunity to include his vacancy in the recent by-elections.

I believe they did not do that for two reasons:

They were frightened of losing more seats than they knew they would;
