A MAN who poured grease cleaner over a teenage workmate's head has walked free from court.
Paul Duffield, 30, thought the bucket contained water and resigned after the youth was injured. He was ordered to pay £500 compensation to the youth, who was then 16.
Duffield, of Colne Road, Earby, admitted common assault, at Burnley Crown Court.
The court was told workers were "messing around" at Wellhouse Wires, in Barnoldswick. The victim was mopping the floor when Duffield poured the bucket of cleaner over him.
Duffield had not been able to find another job and had set up his own business, the court heard.
