LOCAL bobby Keith Williams proved he was game for a laugh when he agreed to be locked up in the stocks and take a severe pelting from soaking sponges at St Joseph's garden fete, Todmorden.
And the intrepid PC was not the only person to get wet, for rain meant most of the events had to be moved indoors.
Attractions included a magic show, football fancy dress, and a beat the goalie competition.
A junior talent show was judged by the mayor, Coun Simon Ormerod.
