ENVIRONMENT week at Tyldesley Highfield Special School was a load of junk!
Pupils were given talks and took part in competitions to help them learn how to care for their surroundings.
They had visits from Leigh rangers and the environment officer and held poster competitions.
But the highlight of the event was a fashion show for which the 85 children, aged seven to 16, designed outfits from rubbish.
They set to work constructing costumes from recycling materials including bin bags, plastic bottles, containers and old clothes.
They made jewellery from ring pulls and shoes from margarine tubs.
School assistant, Janet Featherstone, said: "The week was very enlightening and fun. It has really made the children aware that they have to look after the environment."
