YOUNG St Helens racing cyclist Edmund Leary added another winner's jersey to his collection for this season when he triumphed in the youth event at Port Sunlight Wheelers 50th anniversary race day on Sunday.
Riding in Birkenhead Park, Edmund renewed his rivalry with Wirral's highly-talented Andrew Allen, beaten in May by Edmund from Rainford in the divisional championships.
Again it was the St Helens CRC juvenile who proved the stronger, with Edmund taking command half-a-mile from the finish to come home a comfortable victor.
Next week, Edmund heads for Ireland to take part in several lead-up events to the Tour de France which this year kicks off in the Emerald Isle.
