IN last week's Lynx match programme a comment was made about the local media coverage given towards Lancashire Lynx.

In the article 'View from the Far Side' it said that most of the fans feel that their favourite Rugby League team doesn't get the coverage it deserves.

It continued to knock the local press saying they are more interested in football than rugby in the summer.

I would like to say that since the season started in April we have reported on every match in detail both home and away.

The Preston Citizen realises the importance of Lynx and as so far given a good backing to the team as its main sports story both in the paper and on the internet.

In addition, Steve Hampson and Kevin Tamati have both been featured in Kris's corner and in other interviews the Lynx are often covered.

Chief executive Peter Church, said: "I'm very happy with the Citizen's coverage of the Lancashire Lynx.

"It's far better than any other local coverage and I think that Lynx are only getting the publicity they deserve in the Citizen."
