A LYTHAM rover is returning to Britain's most famous TV pub.
Actress Holly Newman (pictured), who first had a bit-part in ITV's Coronation Street last November, is back to stay in Weatherfield from next Monday (July 6).
Holly, 23, of Clifton Drive South, is to play the Rovers Return's newest barmaid, Lorraine Brownlow-guaranteed to steam up Jack Duckworth's glasses.
The actress, whose dad is Fylde builder Brian Newman of Newfield Construction, plays the sassy, clever and ambitious niece of fellow barmaid Natalie Horrocks, who recommends her for the job to pay her way through college.
Holly first appeared briefly as Lorraine in two episodes last November.
Talk on the Street is that supermarket manager Curly Watts and eco-warrior Spider Nugent are soon to be battling for her favours.
Said Holly: "I'm thrilled to have landed the role of Lorraine. It's a great feeling to be invited back to take the character further.
"Everyone's been wonderful to me and I'm looking forward to pulling pints. I draw the line at lifting beer barrels though."
Holly, an ex-pupil of Lytham's Queen Mary School, trained at the Welsh College of Music and Drama, winning a prestigious award for satirical drama.
Since leaving college she has appeared in BBC's Kiss Mr Kate, Holding the Baby and Dalziel and Pascoe.
Her theatre credits include the role of Hetty Sorrel in Adam Bede at the Derby Playhouse and Theatre Royal, York. She also sings, plays piano and is learning the saxophone.
