AN emotional tribute CD has been recorded by pupils at a Whitefield school in honour of a teacher who suffered a fatal heart attack.
Mr Steve Moore (46), died on April 24 after a suspected heart attack at the wheel of his car.
He was head of science at Philips High School where, this week, pupils have released a special CD single as a moving tribute.
It features a Pogues song, "A Rainy Night in Soho", sung by 16-year-old Alison Campbell, whose mother worked with Mr Moore in the chemistry department as a lab technician.
Alison, who has just completed her GCSEs, had known the teacher for many years.
The Pogues was one of the teacher's favourite bands, who was a fan of all Irish music. The school's tin whistle band also feature on the CD, performing" Foggy Dew", as well as an instrumental version of "Danny Boy".
The CD will be on sale at £5 at a memorial concert at Stand Church, Whitefield, tonight at 6.45pm, attended by Mr Moore's widow June, their two children, friends and relatives.
