THE talents of three Nelson and Colne College students were applauded in the Commons after they picked up a national title.
Pendle MP Gordon Prentice tabled an Early Day Motion congratulating the college team for winning the prestigious Schools' Analyst competition promoted by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Students Helen Atkinson, Ian Edworthy and Richard Mole, together with lecturer Robin Leyland, beat off the challenge from more than 100 schools and colleges.
Mr Prentice said: "This was a splendid achievement. Full marks to the team and our local college."
The Motion, supported by Burnley MP Peter Pike, said: "That this House congratulates Nelson and Colne College on winning the Schools' Analyst Competition organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry's analytical division."
It also went on to congratulate the students by name.
