THE Action for Blind People's Mobile Information and Advice Service bus which visits all parts of the UK offering guidance and advice to the visually impaired, will be calling at St Helens for three days this month.
The bus, fully equipped with wheelchair lift, talking computer, scanner, daily living aids and a fully working kitchen, will be in Church Square on Wednesday, July 8 between 10.15am and 4pm. It will also visit two schools, Rainford C of E and Chapel End, Billinge.
Organised by the charity, along with staff from DASH and the council's library service, the aim of the visit to the town is to raise awareness of the services and equipment currently available for the visually impaired. Details of the local services available will be on display in the mobile unit during the visit, the fourth by the charity.
