WHILE millions across the country witnessed England's World Cup heartache on Tuesday, more than 100 dedicated followers of fashion were doing their bit for those less fortunate.
A special charity fashion show was being held at Bury Parish Church Hall for the Radcliffe-based Romanian Aid by Irresistible, the Bolton Street boutique.
More than £600 was raised for the charity, but even the most hardened fashion gurus couldn't forget the events across the Channel.
"We had our man in France keeping us up to date with the scores," joked Yvonne Wright, proprieter of Irresistible.
"We were a bit worried about the clash with the football, but the turn-out was still very good."
Eleven models took to the catwalk - and even lent a hand in the kitchens, providing refreshments for the crowds.
The director of Romania Aid, the Rev David Roberts, said: "I am delighted with the event and very grateful to everyone who helped to support it."
The money will be used to cover the travel costs of Radcliffe man Ian Siddall who is planning yet another mercy mission to deliver supplies to the hospitals and orphanages of Romania. Yvonne Wright is pictured (centre) with models Stella Hodson (left) and Krystyna Stafiak.
