IAN Peel will be gunning for gold in the Commonwealth Games in September following his call up to the England shooting squad.
The Blackburn based shooter was selected in the 24-strong squad for Kuala Lumpur announced by the Commonwealth Games Council for England and Wales.
Currently ranked number one in the UK he will compete in the trap event at the Games in Malaysia beginning on September 11.
The 40-year-old was European Champion in 1996 and won gold at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh 12 years ago, breaking the existing Commonwealth record in the process.
But he will have to be on his mettle this time around because he is participating in one of the most competitive shooting events possible.
The squad will prepare by training in Zurich due to new UK gun laws.
