BLACKBURN Transport has caved in to pressure from Westminster and reinstated the Route 30 bus service from Darwen and Lower Darwen to the town centre.
Its decision earlier this year to axe the service via Branch Road, Ewood and the Infirmary caused an outcry.
Now the firm has agreed to reinstate an hourly service with extra buses at peak hours from August 3 after intervention by Rossendale and Darwen MP Janet Anderson.
She was called last month in by Lower Darwen residents after their complaints went unanswered.
Now Blackburn Transport has notified the government whip of its change of heart and thanking her for "going to the trouble of bringing to our attention a need we may have overlooked"
Mrs Anderson said: "I am delighted and grateful to Blackburn Transport for listening to local people and the delivering the kind of service they need."
