MICK Docherty and Jimmy Robson are back at Turf Moor - and they have been joined by a new chief scout in Cliff Roberts, who has left a similar role with Bury to link up again with Stan Ternent, writes PETER WHITE.

Leaving Burnley in the wake of the new appointments are chief scout Clive Middlemass and, from the coaching staff, Alan Harper.

Ternent wants Robson and Docherty to work on the youth side with Terry Pashley, while Roberts also has coaching qualifications if needed to help out under Ternent and his assistant Sam Ellis.

The new Burnley manager's backroom shuffle now seems complete, leaving him free to concentrate on playing matters.

He is delighted to have been able to bring in people who know how things operate at Turf Moor and he is also well aware of Roberts' qualities, haviong worked closely with him at Bury for the past few years.

"We have to get back to finding our own kids and bringing them on, that is becoming more and more important," said Ternent today.

"Mick and Jimmy are both ex-Burnley which is important to me and I have been with Cliff for a long time.

He knows what I want."
