FIRE-EATING youngsters were risking their lives in a deadly new game, it was revealed.

Children - some as young as ten years old - were seen squirting butane gas into their mouths, spitting it out, and setting fire to it.

Coun Edna Millett, of Accrington, who raised the alarm, warned that the fatal fad of "fireballs" could prove tragic. Police and fire officers joined Hyndburn MP Ken Hargreaves to condemn the dangerous craze.
