THE latest decision on the A-board debate demonstrates the arrogant, dictatorial rule emanating out of Blackburn Town Hall.
Now they have decided they know better than the minister who advised councils against this type of action.
What are they proposing to do about the wheelie bins that clutter the pavements on bin day? Are they to be banned?
The folly of their judgment is that they cannot act reasonably if challenged about a decision. Remember the childish attitude adopted when they lost in court the attempt to rename Market Way, Mandela Way.
They promptly named the last council houses they were allowed to build - Mandela Way.
Instead of making people's lives difficult they should concentrate on getting their act together and reinstate all the footpaths to a safe condition.
The Health and Safety Executive have decreed that A-boards should be placed around all work carried out on the footpaths. Can the council explain the difference as to why these are not a hazard? To the handicapped it seems a contradiction.
