ROGER Hunt's England winners' shirt worn in the 1966 World Cup final failed to hit its target during an auction of soccer memorabilia at Sotheby's.
The long-sleeved red shirt, expected to net between £30,000 and £50,000, was withdrawn from sale after bidding stopped at £19,000.
The shirt belonged to former West German international Wolfgang Weber, who swapped it with Roger, of Culcheth, after England's 4-2 extra-time victory.
Also in the auction was the short-sleeved white West German shirt that Weber gave to Roger, a Liverpool striker, but that too failed to reach its reserve price of £15,000.
