AN Atherton plant hire fitter is offering a substantial reward to track down thieves who stole a works van and thousands of pounds worth of tools from a compound in the town in the early hours of last Friday.
The white M-reg Ford Transit, bearing the name Rodgers Plant Hire in green signwriting, vanished from behind a locked eight feet high iron gate and fence.
The van belonged to the firm, but the tools were the fitter's own and he had only worked for the company for two weeks.
It is the second time in two years his gear has been lifted.
