LUCKY cat Panda is settling into his new home after a caring pet lover from Huncoat offered to give him a last chance of happiness.
Melanie Appleby, of Rawtenstall, managed to get the RSPCA to fund a vital operation on Panda's thyroid.
She had spotted him near her home, wandering as if abandoned and clearly losing weight.
And through Shuttleworth Vets, Rawtenstall, and the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, she appealed for a new home for the 12-year-old.
Now he is settled in Huncoat with a family who also have a female Siamese.
Melanie, who has nine cats of her own, said: "I am very grateful to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph for helping Panda find a new home."
