A RARE damselfly has been spotted in Worsley Wood.
Naturalist Peter Edmondson sighted the Banded Demoiselle damselfly (Calopteryx splendens) along the former railway line between Roe Green and the wood, as part of the Mersey Basin Campaign's Kingfisher and Dragonfly survey sponsored by NatWest Corporate Banking Services.
Anyone who has sightings of the species in this area should contact Steve Garland of Bolton Natural History Museum on 01204 522311 ext 2197.
