THE letter Councillor Hanson (Citizen, July 2) appears to have replied to, is a letter, which I have not written!

Her reply, concerning the understanding of economics, does not explain why she expects tenants, with a limited tenure, to invest large sums of money in Bubbles as she and Councillor Yates suggested in their original letter.

The long list of so-called options for the tourism budget would be interesting if the chamber had suggested a greater subsidy for the Bubbles Complex. The chamber made no such suggestion in its letter so the list of options has no bearing on any point made by me.

With regard to the intemperate remarks addressed to the owner of Frontierland and the issue of freedom of speech I ask Councillor Hanson to consider the following. No one, least of all the Chamber of Trade, would deny anyone the right to express him or herself freely. But, it may not be wise for the chairman of Morecambe tourism to associate herself with a gratuitous insult to the biggest leisure investor in Morecambe, particularly one who has in the past, contributed generously to Morecambe's tourism. With regard to the state of Frontierland, it seems to the chamber that the appearance of the place improves with each passing year, but then we are looking at the front of it rather than the back.
